She is so BOSS! Such an epic character to draw!
Always wanted to vector her, and *poof*, I jumped right into it for a poster collab.

CAAAAAAADEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND HAVE SLAUGHTERED MY CHILDREN WITH THAT STUNT YOU PULLED AT THE ROYAL WEDDING! I WAS THE ONLY ONE TO SURVIVE THE BLAST! HOW COULD YOU HAVE KILLED SO MANY OF MY FAMILY? YOU WILL BURN IN TARTARUS FOR YOUR INSOLENCE!
I'm making sprites for stonesense for MLP mod of Dwarf Fortress. This looks useful.
The SVG link seems to lead to a poster, so I'll just resize the png.
I downloaded it, loaded it in GIMP 2.6 and as far as I can see, the "SVG" is a one-layer season 2 poster and not this.
But never mind that, I'm done with changelings, you can see the effect in my gallery. The sprites came out OK and if someone doesn't like them he can make his own
And at its top, standing upon a balcony, stood Queen Chrysalis, surveying a land of desert flatlands and mesas covered in hive complexes of various shapes and sizes, connected by mazes of tunnels and bridges, filled on the ground and in the air by countless of her subjects, toiling in her name.
Queen Chrysalis was brooding. Though considerable time had passed since the failed invasion at Canterlot, its fallout had continued to haunt her - in the passing months she had faced rebellions by dissenting Changeling separatists, coups by Changeling War-masters, usurption attempts by Changeling Hive Lords and Brood Matrons who wanted replace her dynasty with theirs, all having taken her moment of vulnerability as cue to strike.
It didn't help that much of her army's finest warriors were scattered or lost during their expulsion from Canterlot, which in turn had also made the Empire vulnerable to hostile powers beyond their borders - monstrous creatures, Diamond Dog warlords, rival Changeling realms, beyond even her Empire's control, and not to mention the Griffon Kingdoms, Dragon Clans, Minotaur City-states and Principality of Equestria which had all now taken her and her kind as a threat.
The economy (of Love energy) had taken a severe dive and faced shortages as the expected Love energies that was supposed to be gleaned from Equestria was not delivered, and the treasury and various harvesting-hives are being strained hard to compensate for it, and the oppressed Changeling population are getting increasingly desperate, restless, and even defiant now that image of her invulnerability is cracked. It didn't help that the notoriously bloated, inefficient and corrupt imperial bureaucracy that supported her and her Royal family for generations had been largely ineffectual in dealing with the problems. There had been riots, terrorism, assassinations in the hives, incidences of insubordination are over the roof and her enforcers and finding it harder to even slow its rise. And even the loyalties of her own subordinates are in question.
It had taken her so much effort in the last few months just to get back a measure of control, pulling out every trick and scheme out of her metaphoric sleeve: playing her enemies against each other, ruthlessly punishing rebels and usurpers, making decrees and passing reforms in order to make her government more capable of dealing with the crisis, rearming her Changeling war-swarms to secure the borders.
Yet, even after months of work, the situation remained tenacious. In fact, the culmination of all these instabilities, chaos and turmoils had pretty much made her current situation into a powder-keg. Now all it takes is one spark, one more disaster, the set it off, and once it does it would take her down, and the Empire with it.
And thus, here Queen Chrysalis brood, nerves frayed by stress and paranoia, is now at the end of her wits - frustrated, overworked, exhausted. Her heart boiling in anger, anger for Equestria and those damnable ponies for not falling to her, over her failure to overcome them and her own problems, anger over the entire damned situation.
"Well." She thought to herself, sighing angrily, "At least it just couldn't get any worse."
In hindsight, it proved to be a highly ironic statement.
"Is that what you think?" A voice suddenly said behind her, followed by a soft chuckle, which made her membranous mane stood on ends, "You should had known better than to tempt fate."
"What?! Who are you?! " Queen Chrysalis shouted, snarling in rage, "How did you - ?!" she whirled around to find herself facing ....
Should the prank be revealed eventually, Celestia would recognize her own humor in that and get really confused.
On the agenda - how do we off the queen?
